The Children’s
Art Garden
A place to slow down, get your hands messy, and make something wonderful — paint, draw, build, and explore, all weekend long.
welcome in
Come get your
hands messy.
The Children’s Art Garden is a creative space where kids can slow down, get their hands messy, and make art in a fun, welcoming environment during the Festival.
Throughout the weekend, children and families are invited to stop by to paint, draw, build, experiment, and explore their creativity through hands-on activities designed for a wide range of ages and experience levels.
This year’s Garden is located on the ground floor of the Civic Auditorium, right next door to the City Library.

to Being Big
Inspired by the iconic giant miner statue on Helper Main Street, this heartwarming story follows Big John and a little boy named Carbon as they explore what it really means to be big. (Hint: it’s not just about how tall he is.)
Filled with local charm, kindness, and colorful illustrations, it’s a must-have for families, classrooms, and lovers of Helper history — written and published by Ashley herself.

It’s full of local hot spots and attractions, plus the wonderful businesses all around Main Street and inside these beautiful historic buildings.
why it matters
Building community,
one small artist at a time.
Color Carbon County’s mission lives right alongside the Festival’s own: building community through art. Proceeds from the booth and the book go straight back into arts education and creative opportunities for kids across Carbon County.
