David Turner is a Marine who came home broken by grief. When a classified program offers a way to lift consciousness clean out of the body, he says yes — not for science, but for the chance to feel something other than loss.
What he finds on the other side is a version of reality that keeps splitting — timelines branching with every choice, every glitch, every voice he can’t place. As the boundary between body and mind starts to dissolve, so does his certainty about what, exactly, made it back.
